A fun colourwork pattern featuring koi carp – this pattern was designed especially for not so small daughter’s trip to Japan in 2023. She travelled with Girl Guides and had to raise the money for the trip herself … of course her Mum was going to help! 🙂
Suitable for adventurous beginners, these socks are knitted in 4ply with colourwork fish that can be knitted using leftovers. They have a heel flap and gusset; the heel flap is created with slip stitches to give a comfortable, cushioned heel. The pattern is written for four sizes from 8 – 9.5 inches (20-24cm) foot circumference.
The pattern is based on the Winwick Mum Basic 4ply Socks pattern so you can knit these even if you are relatively new to socks – the Sockalong tutorials (also available as the Super Socks book) will help you if you get stuck, and there is tutorial information about creating the fish included in the pattern.
