Monthly Musings? What on earth are those?!
Did you know that “Winwick Mum” actually started as a contribution to our local church newsletter when it needed some extra content?
“You could do that,” my husband said, nudging me as he read the notice in the newsletter over my shoulder. “You’d be good at that.”
This was back in 2010 and although I was quite nervous about the idea, I decided after my husband’s encouraging words that I could probably write a short column about life as a Mum in the village – but I was a bit shy about it and wanted to write anonymously in case people didn’t like it -after all, nobody wants to be tapped on the shoulder in the village shop and told that someone didn’t like your article! – but fortunately, they did! “Winwick Mum” came into being in August 2010 and I loved writing the Monthly Musing columns as they came to be called so much that even after the church stopped producing the newsletter a few years later, I decided to carry on writing.
There’s a Monthly Musing post on the blog every month ( well, nearly every month, sometimes life gets in the way 🙂 ) and you can find them all here. They’re short, standalone posts about something that has caught my attention, sometimes about my family, sometimes about life, and they help to keep me connected to my blog’s theme of “looking for the extraordinary in the everyday”.
I hope you enjoy reading them!
