Packing … and is that a plant?!

A paper document with "Rangers Guide to Japan" written in red ink across the front is lying on some other papers on a table.A large cream-coloured cactus with furry legs (it looks a bit like a huge spider!) is sitting on a green table

Hello, hello, it’s a flying visit today because we’re on countdown now to not so small daughter jetting off to Japan on Wednesday, plus we’ve got my cousin and her family visiting from Canada this weekend – phew!  We’re washing, sewing on badges, shopping and packing … the list seems never-ending!

I took some time off and went to the RHS Tatton Show yesterday.  I’ve got a lovely big post and lots of photos to show you planned in my mind but that will have to wait until later in the week when I have time to sit and write it.  In the meantime, here’s a photo of Henry.  He’s lovely, but I’m not sure I would want him living in my house!

I’ll catch up with you again soon! xx

hoping that you have time to enjoy the visit. After all the buildup and fundraising the time seems to have flown by, Japan will be marvelous. I send good wishes for your daughter and sympathy as a fellow mother who has waved her offspring off on adventures

I think its name might be “Harry [Hairy]” instead of Henry! Hahaha! Such an exciting time for your daughter! Such a nerve wracking time for a mum!

That’s a monkey tail cactus! Or that is it’s name in Dutch. Got two of them in the house :-). If you stroke them the right way, they’re quite soft ;-).

Oh, that’s a much nicer name than the Latin name! You weren’t encouraged to stroke him but I could imagine that it would be soft as those hairs are pretty long! 🙂 xx
