Nobody is more surprised than me to be sitting here writing this post and telling you that two years after the first Sockalong post was published, the tutorials are still the most popular posts on my blog - but what a lovely surprise! The Sockalong started out as three weeks' worth of tutorials to help people understand how a sock was constructed and (what I hoped) was an easy way to knit one so that they could go off and explore more patterns. I had no real of idea of what would happen to it after those first three weeks other than I hoped that I'd be able to share my passion for knitting socks and some people might find it useful.
"Some people" has turned out to be rather a lot! The Winwick Mum Sockalong Facebook group now has over 8,000 members, there's a lot of pattern, recipe, pet picture-sharing and general hilarity in the Winwick Mum Knit n Natter group and the Sockalong itself is still helping people every day to knit a pair of socks for themselves. I am more than delighted with how it's developed a life of it's own; I love being able to see socks that have been knitted, to help to switch on the electricity for those lightbulb moments and more than anything, I love being part of the community that has developed around it.
To celebrate the Sockalong's 2nd birthday, I'm really thrilled to tell you that I'm going to have a birthday giveaway again with some really lovely prizes that have been gifted by friends from the Sockalong community. I am very blessed to be part of such a creative and generous community, and I am very happy to be able to share their talents with you.
I've got two prizes this year, both of which are fantastically fabulous and if I can't tempt you with them, I'm very happy to give them a home! J
In this prize is a signed copy of Super Socks, a project bag, DPN case and notions holder, a ball of Opal yarn, and a set of stitch markers:
In this prize is a signed copy of Super Socks, a unique Sockalong project notebook, a packet of Addi Colibri coloured DPNs, a ball of West Yorkshire Spinners yarn and two sets of stitch markers:
They're lovely treats, aren't they? Would you like to take a closer look?
This prize was gifted by Christine of Woolrich Crafts. Her project bags and accessories are gorgeous, created from quality fabrics and beautifully made. The set consists of a project bag which is just right for socks, a DPN case to stop your needles sliding out of your work if you have to leave them mid-project and a notions case for stitch markers, safety pins, tape measures - whatever you need to carry about for your project. There's a dinky bird charm as a zipper pull too, which matches the theme perfectly.
Eleanor from Knit Nottingham has gifted this ball of yarn so that you can start a new pair of socks straight away. It's a ball of Opal in shade Fresh & Juicy erntefrische Paprika (fresh and juicy pepper) which actually looks more like watermelons to me - a perfect yarn for summer socks I would think, and I'd really love to see what this looks like when it's knitted up, so if you win then don't forget to show me! If you've never knitted with Opal before, you're going to love it - it's definitely a catnip type of yarn! Knit Nottingham is a bricks and mortar shop in Nottingham (as you'd expect!) which offers workshops as well as a wide range of yarns and accessories so if you live in the area, do pop in - and if you don't live nearby, there's an online shop too!
You'll be needing some new stitch markers to put in your new notions case and these lovely shimmery ones from Rachel at Demelza's Delights are just the thing. These are just right for the smaller gauge needles that you use for socks and shawls, and with so many in the set, they'll also be ideal for other projects that need more markers (lace, for example) so you've no excuse for not branching out!
Anne from AnnieOB Textiles has created this special notebook for the Sockalong birthday giveaway - isn't it fabulous? She's got a real talent for machine embroidery and creates lovely little books which are perfect for crafters. This notebook has blank pages for you to fill with your own sock notes and project information.
More catnip yarn! This is the one that I couldn't put down a few weeks ago; West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply in Pink Flamingo which was gifted by Lucy from Magnolia Tree Crafts in Poynton, Cheshire. If you're ever anywhere nearby, this lovely shop is well worth a visit. Lucy sells yarns, fabrics and all kinds of accessories for crafters as well as hosting workshops and you can also order through her online shop as well.
There are two sets of stitch markers in this prize, both created by Rachel from Demelza's Delights. She manages to source some really lovely charms for her markers and these two sets are no exception. On the right are a set of enamel flowers with a jewelled centre, and on the left are "mermaid scales" which shine beautifully as the light catches them. You'll have such stylish knitting with these!
There is also a set of Addi DPNs gifted by Eleanor at Knit Nottingham with this prize. They are Addi Colibri coloured DPNs - which should mean that they don't get lost as quickly as non-coloured ones because you can see them when you drop them!
I'm sure you'll agree, these are amazing prizes and I'd like to thank Christine, Eleanor, Rachel, Anne and Lucy for their generosity in contributing them. I'd also like to thank you for being part of all this too, because without you the Sockalong would just be tutorials on a blog. This feels like a very special 2nd birthday! So ... the next question is ... would you like to know how you can be in with a chance to win one of these prizes? It's really easy, I promise!
Last year, I asked you how many pairs of socks you had knitted since the Sockalong started. I wanted to see if we could get an idea of just how many pairs of Sockalong socks were out there - after all, I do keep telling people that we're taking over the world one sock at a time! J - and after adding up the numbers on the blog and in the Facebook group, the total came to 3,500 pairs which is just amazing! It's a good job I was sitting down when I worked that out!
This year, I'm going to ask the same question because I'd love to know how many pairs have been made this year. It's not a competition with how many were made last year; I'd just like to know, because I like the idea that every new pair has brought some more happiness into the world when they were being made and also when they were being worn.
To enter the giveaway, please comment with how many pairs of Sockalong socks you've made since May 2016. Don't worry if you're still making your first pair or are about to cast on, just write that information and your comment will count too J
The giveaway will be drawn on Sunday 7 May 2017 as close to 8pm BST as possible. I am happy to post the prizes anywhere in the world so don't feel that you can't be part of this because you don't live in the UK. Don't worry if you don't have a Google or blog account to leave a comment, you can leave it as "anonymous" but don't forget to put your name in the comment so that when I post the winners I'll be able to identify you so that you can get in touch for your prize! Oh, and also don't worry that your comment doesn't show straight away - the comments are set for me to check them before they upload to the blog to make sure that no spam gets through so they are all safely stored in my blog messages until I've seen them. I'll make sure they're all uploaded on time! J
Edit: the giveaway has now closed and the winners have been drawn. You can see the results post and find out how many pairs of socks were knitted this year here. Thank you to everyone who entered! xx
I'm halfway through my second pair. I love hand knitted socks because I can get the leg length just the way I like it.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday - you share it with me!
Happy birthday to you too! I hope you have a fabulous day! xx
DeleteI am halfway down the leg of my first ever sock having only recently stumbled across your blog and website, which got me inspired to try knitting socks. I am using short circulars for the first time and loving it!
ReplyDelete3 pairs for me Christine. Thanks so much for your blog. Pippa
ReplyDelete8 pairs since your excellent course at Black Sheep last year. A whole winter without cold feet at last! Thank you so much. Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI made socks on straight needles with a lumpy seam for years brfore finding the sockalong, with help and encouragement from the members I managed mini circulars and am now embarking on what must be about pair 30, happy birthday sockalong and thank you xxxx
ReplyDelete56 socks, all with your pattern except one! Thank you so much! By the way, today is my 68nd birthday. We can celebrate together, sockalong and I!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Mary, I hope it's a wonderful day for you too! xx
DeleteI 'think' I'm on pair 25 since then. Not quite sure as I have given so many pairs away! I also cheat now & adapt other textured patterns to the basic sockalong pattern so I'm not sure if that counts.
ReplyDeleteI've loved my time in here & have only caused one little upset! Best behaviour now! Manda xxx
All water under the bridge now - and luckily you've not got your feet wet either! ;) xx
DeleteMy first pair was for me, second pair for my husband, third pair for my new grandson, 4th pair for my mom for mother's day will be completed this week!😊
ReplyDeleteOnly 1pair made but love them to bits and can't wait to knit more have so many wip's to finish and babies on the way ...but have lots of yarn at the ready...thankyou Christine ..and the give awayers lovely prizes x
ReplyDeleteStarted first pair in a rush, then decided to do it properly but life's got in the way a bit, so it's still a treat to look forward to, though I have got enough yarn to knit at least three more pairs............ :-)
ReplyDelete14 pairs so far for me , Happy Birthday
ReplyDeleteFive completed pairs, one pair on the needles and a mini Winwick brooch sock! Many more skeins and balls waiting to be transformed! x
ReplyDeleteI've made 2 pairs, actually 3 but...well I didn't do a gauge and one pair had to be completely frogged and re done. Gauge swatches are important people!
ReplyDeleteI'm halfway through my 13th pair. Each one has brought me and the recipients much joy, and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment as I grow in confidence with each one to try something new. I feel lucky to be part of this supportive community. Thank you for enabling it. Happy 2nd anniversary!
ReplyDeleteFive but 6 and 7 are coming along nicely. I have had to abandon wearing hand knitted as the weather is getting better. More knitting in the garden....
ReplyDeleteI'm about a quarter of the way through my first sock for many years. But I've only just discovered you. The Facebook group is so encouraging and I've just got your book.
ReplyDeleteThree pairs in total, though two of those are WIP. Two for me, one for my Dad. Happy Birthday! From Sarah H-A
ReplyDeleteI made 6 pairs for Dec all in a rush as I made them as Christmas presents for the kids, husband and of course myself !! Currently knitting another pair as my 2 year old Sockalong socks finally gave up the ghost after constant wear.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2nd Birthday Sock-a-longers and a huge thank you to Christine for looking after us so well. Since May last year I've knitted 36 pairs of socks,15 pairs of trainer Socks and 21 pairs of normal length socks. I'm addicted to knitting socks :-December x
ReplyDeleteFive . . . . plus three shawls which I saw first on Winwick Knit and Natter. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you have given me and the lovely friendly community that has grown out of Sockalong! :-)
ReplyDeleteSince May last year I have knitted 7 pairs of socks and I have 3 WIPS. I just love the feel of hand made socks and have thrown away all my shop bought socks. Happy birthday xx

Thank you so much for your pattern. I've become addicted to knitting socks. I've made 7 pairs since February 2017.
ReplyDeleteLong may this group continue to thrive. I love it !! 😀😀💞💞. Susan Streatfield.
I have made three and a half single socks so far this year. I need to finish each pair, and there are others I would love to cast on. Thank you for the birthday giveaway, it's my birthday today too!! :)
ReplyDeleteFinished my first pair on Sunday. Second pair cast on and already on the gusset. So much beautiful yarn waiting for me. So thankful to have found you and the FB group.
ReplyDeleteI've made 11 pairs and love them - thank you for the guiding hand and the inspiration. Happy Birthday! 😊
ReplyDeleteI think it's probably 3 or 4 pairs since May 2016, plus a mini sock for Yarndale. I've a pair currently on the needles and am about to start another. I'd never have started at all if it hadn't been for my lovely friend Christine James introducing me to this blog and the wonderful Facebook group. Now it's an addiction! Happy birthday Winwick Mum Sockalong! xx
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Sockalong. I'm new to socking making, having been inspired by Christine's fab book. Now on my 4th pair & totally addicted
ReplyDeleteJust 2 pairs xx
ReplyDeleteHave lots of projects on the go as your site has led me to others like shawls, attic24 & Jera Brandvig quiltingintherain xx
Have a stash of yarn now too ..... I've officially been led astray Xx
Only made one pair so far, but looking at the fresh and juicy pepper yarn I definitely want to start another!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. I think 8 pairs, though I have made 9 pairs but ripped one out and re-knitted. I re-used the yarn and made a pair of your cable socks which I love and I'm wearing today.
ReplyDeleteErm I've started 6 pairs since January but I have the attention span of a gnat and chronic Castonitis so none are finished!! I did actually finish my first ones but had changed from magic loop to 9" circs after the heel and my tension got tight. I've pulled them out but can't face them again just yet.
ReplyDeleteClare Stoddart - 4 pairs made since I joined in January! (I also commented on the FB post, just in case you're counting from both!) Happy Birthday x
ReplyDeleteHello, nearly 2 pairs since I started early March, was hoping to finish my 4th sock before my (big) birthday this weekend but still have the toes to do before I can start my next pair :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I have made 12 pairs, and just cast on number 13.....never in a month of Sundays would I ever of thought I would be able to knit socks!
ReplyDeleteI'm about to finish my first pair! All because of you! Thank you so much and Happy birthday from Quebec, Canada!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine for this wonderful group. I have looked back at the pics of socks made - 9 pair as Christmas gifts makes a total of 17 pair plus 3 singles awaiting their partners.
ReplyDeleteOh you all make me so inspired I normally crochet but I can't resist any longer, I want to knit socks! Freya Irvine
ReplyDeleteHappy 2nd Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteFive completed pairs (4*4ply and 1*6ply), one pair on the needles (cable pattern) and another 4 balls and 1 skein waiting their turn! Thank you so much xx
Three pairs, 1 for me, 1 for my husband and 1 for my daughter. About to start my 4th pair.
ReplyDeleteStarting my first pair. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteStarting my third pair, thanks to all the help from the tutorial and the lovely ladies in the group.
ReplyDeleteI think i am upto 16 pairs since last may and several of those were christmas presents. I still have enough wool to make several more pairs!!
ReplyDeleteSince May last year have made 8 pairs, another one on the needles almost done.
ReplyDeleteTwo pairs completed using my copy of your book since May last year, yesterday I cast on for another pair, using Rico superba tweed in black, grey and cream patterned yarn. For this I need to knit in a very good light, especially when counting stitches against dark needles. DH wears only hand knitted socks, socks are a great portable project so these will be in my bag for knitting in public and travelling.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Winwick Mum sock-blog. I wanted to say - if you don't mind me rambling on for a moment - that I joined the lovely WM FB page a year or so ago, even though I have hated knitting since the days of compulsory second form housecraft with the horrible Mrs Nelson (while the boys got to play football in the school yard with Mr Penny, and we could hear them shouting and having loads of fun in the sun while we struggled to control the needles and Mrs N told us as often as possible how stupid we were...). But the WM socks were so beautiful, and I had just learned to crochet and was full of joy at being able to do it. It's taken me almost the whole year to get my courage up, but I now have a set of Addi DPNs (love them) and on my computer a library of Youtube videos covering the necessary stitches - and, on my needles, a whole ribbed cuff and most of an ankle. There has, I confess, been some frogging going on and I can feel rising dread as I approach the heel. But I know your brilliant tutorials and all the tips from other members will get me into it and past it. And, best of all, I know if I ever get very stuck, I can always ask one of you lot for help! Thanks, WM and everyone, from Cheryl.
ReplyDelete20 pairs completed and 3 pairs currently on the needles. Love your blog - your tutorials are very helpful. Thank you ❤️
ReplyDeleteI started my first pair last night. They are on 2 circulars. I have the cuff of each done so far.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSix pairs completed and more on the way. Thank you so much for all your help with tutorials etc they are brilliant and I use them so much.
Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary i never thought i would be able to knit socks but seeing them made step by step was a great help thanks

ReplyDeleteI've made 7 pairs in total since 8 started just over a year ago :)
ReplyDelete5! Amazing how much faster they went after I started using the small circulars :) I set sock knitting aside over the winter to make two sweaters (sweater-a-long, anyone?), but am back to sock knitting now that the weather has warmed up and small projects are best. Thank you for all your hard work! Happy sockiversary!
ReplyDeleteTwo pairs completed.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago I remember telling a friend that I couldn't understand people spending £££ on wool for socks. Ok, ok, now I get it! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Christine. I fear I've become a sock knitting addict now and I'm trying to make 12 pairs of socks this year! Thank you for your blog and patterns x

ReplyDeleteMichaela.clark37@gmail.com
2years is so cool! I'm so pleased I found the sockalong. I always wanted to be able to knit socks but dpns frightened me and I thought they would be really complicated and fiddly to make especially thin sock yarn. Instead, your pattern and encouragement (and suggestion of small circulars) means I've knitted two pairs of adult socks (on circulars) and I'm just about finish a toddler pair entirely on dpns (I feel very brave). Congratulations on the 2nd bday Christine and congrats to the two lucky winners who get these lovely prizes
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!. 3 pairs so far :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on my first pair of the basic sock pattern. Thoroughly enjoying it. I'm still using dpn's will be trying the small circular in the future. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I've completed 2 pairs and am halfway through sock 1 of a 3rd pair :)
ReplyDeleteI have made one pair of socks so far this year and I'm looking forward to knitting your cable socks next. Thank you for the chance to win such lovely prizes and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the Sockalong and congratulations to you for establishing and maintaining such a marvellous enterprise! I can contribute only two whole socks (not even a pair) and their companions both on my needles waiting for my arm to come out of plaster. Plus I claim some credit for the many more created by Good Wool Shop customers with your book as their bible and the wonderful Paula Hale helping them along.
ReplyDeleteI have been with the group since it first started and have made 5 pairs of socks this year.
ReplyDeleteX Jo Jenkins X
Happy Birthday! I'm still on my first pair as I just started knitting and found your wonderful pattern :)
ReplyDeletehappy 2nd birthday
ReplyDeleteI'm another crocheter who followed Lucy from Attic 24 over here and I've done 4 pairs now with your wonderful book. Discovering the circular needles via your blog has opened up a whole new world of knitting to me as I could never cope with sticks before and now I've also knitted a cardigan too so THANK YOU.
I am on the leg portion of my first ever sock! I have always been daunted by knitting my own socks, but with this tutorial I am doing it!!
ReplyDeleteI'm on my 13th pair. I only found your wonderful book last July. Although I have been knitting for more years than I care to think about I had never Knitted socks. Congratulations & thank you.
ReplyDeleteLet me think... toddler socks- 3, teens- 4, hubby-10, me- 5. You can see, my husband really likes my socks :-).

Wow 2 Years old!! Happy Birthday. I would never have learned how to knit socks if it weren't for your lovely Instructional Materials (book & tutorials), the lovely ladies in the FB Group that always have the answers and encouragement to keep going. Although it took for forever to complete my first pair.....I can proudly say that I have now completed, 5 pairs, YES 5!!! I won't mention that I have purchased wool for an additional 6 more. They will make lovely gifts for friends and family. Special Thank you to you Christine, such a lovely lady with a huge heart. I appreciate all you do. Raven Holbrook
ReplyDeleteI can't remember when I discovered the fabulous sockalong group but I am so very grateful to you Christine! I've made 4 pairs of socks!
ReplyDeleteI've knit 7 pairs of socks since May 2016. I never would have imagined that when I cast on my first sock.

I've knitted about 10 pairs since then. I've also introduced two other ladies to sock knitting using your pattern so I've been spreading the sock making love.

I've made 8 pair this year, bringing my total to 20. I gave 4 away for Christmas and when my mom wore hers the first time, she said it was the first time all winter her ankles had been really warm. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the yarn to start my first pair now to find the time.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday .. Pair no 3 for me... Gaby
ReplyDelete25 pairs and i've 'enabled' another 15 people through teaching!! :D
ReplyDeletePaula Hale, Formby, Merseyside
I have started 3 pairs but now have to complete the matching sock for each pair. My favourite is your cable pattern using Lancashire Poll Dorset wool with Blacker yarn mohair.
ReplyDelete3 pairs for me. I've been knitting for several years but I learned how to knit socks from your book. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteEight (8) pairs so far since May 2016 and another pair just cast on! So wonderful to have socks that actually fit, don't get eaten by my shoes or turned around by my slippers - oh, and warm feet of course. And such an easy project to take around with me. Thank you so much, Christine. Any remaining yarn is being turned into a mitred square blanket, which is looking good so far. However the addictive quality of sock knitting could be a little concerning.
ReplyDeleteI've made about another 30 pairs since last May 2016 and I'm proud to say I've been with you from the start. I would never have made socks or shawls without your help via the Facebook Group and my many cyber friends on there...Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it! XxxLissie WalesxxX
ReplyDeletehappy birthday winwick sockalong!!! awesomeness!!! I've knit two pairs of the sockalong socks and they've given me the confidence to try a pair as-i-go, thank you so much for these fantastic tutorials! <3 Miranda wert

Happy Birthday. Starting on my second sock.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Christine, you have certainly unleashed a monster! My sock addiction has led to 2pairs of 6ply, 2pairs of your cables, 4pairs of sockalongs and so far 2.5 pairs from The Sock Drawer. That's the 2017 count so far ! The perpetual motion keeps the arthritis at bay and has kept me busy all over the world! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWow,two years since i started my first pair, and they're still my favourite! Congratulations, the sockalong group has brought me so much, friends around the world, solace in hard times and inspiration at every turn. Thank you Christine.x

ReplyDeleteI have made 1 sock (couldn't find the yarn for the second but finally ordered some!) and am on the second. I'm pregnant with our 4th and so I'm using your pattern to knit up socks for the baby and toddlers this summer! Already bought yarn and have been happily going at it. Happy sockiverssary!
ReplyDeleteI've just cast on for my fifth pair of sockalong socks!
ReplyDeleteAmanda N, Ontario, Canada
I've made two full pairs, a single sock (didn't fit but needs a friend so it can go to a nice home) and a WIP of some extra long ones! I love telling people to look up the blog. I'm at uni so I wear them to lectures to show them off. People my age think I'm nuts!
ReplyDeleteHello, Christine, and congratulations on the Sockalong's second birthday. I joined the Sockalong and Knit and Natter groups about 6 months ago. While I haven't yet cast on a sock, I have gleaned tons of knowledge and tips, collected enough sock yarn for a dozen pairs, and increased my collection of DPNs and circular needles based on recommendations from the group. I fully intend to knit socks, but in the meantime I am enjoying the Winwick community. What a nice group of ladies and gents from all over. Here's to world peace through socck knitting!
ReplyDeleteI've knitted 6 full pairs with 3 socks needing mates yet! Happy Birthday #2 Winwick Sockalong - love this group.
ReplyDeleteTwo socks and one in progress :) I knit my first sock at Christmas although no pairs yet due to serious second sock-itis! One in an opal sock yarn, one in WYS rum paradise using your great cable tutorial and currently knitting with WYS tequila sunrise :) thanks for all of your tutorials, they helped give me courage to cast on my first sock
ReplyDeleteI'm halfway through my way sock after Lucy attic24 pointed in your direction. I'm a crocheter at heart so now trying to find the time and courage to tackle the heel!
ReplyDeletePoppy Hatfield, High Wycombe
I've only taken up knitting since January and have only made two pair so far but I'm totally smitten!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI haven't began yet, but I'm getting there...
You are a genius!
I have made 5 pairs and I'm currently knitting pair 6 out of all the left over scraps. I have loved learning to knit socks. Thank you so much Christine.
ReplyDeleteEmily White, Portsmouth
Happy Birthday to you! I`ve been a crocheter for about 4 years. I follow Lucy`s blog Attic 24, and I became aware of your wonderful pattern and the sockalong blog with her. I taught myself to knit last year, with the support of a portuguese knitter Filipa Carneiro, on blog "nionoi", who publish wonderful knitting video classes. I have the needles (DPN`s, small circular, etc), I have the yarn, I have the stitch markers and... I`m studying your pattern and I hope this summer I star my first pair of socks!!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOnly one pair recently. I made quite a few the year before thanks to you so I've been knitting other things in the meantime. I'm sure my sock stock will need replacing some time soon so am looking forward to knitting more pairs. Ann Shepherd.
ReplyDeleteHi there and a very happy sockalong birthday to you! I am still on my first pair but am nearing the toe of sock one. I'm on holiday next week so hope to make some more progress. I think you will probably be celebrating the 5th sockalong by the time I finish. I've never met a slower knitter than me! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial and all your other lovely blog posts which I love reading. Kathy x
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday sockalong! I've completed 11 pairs! Thanks for a great tutorial and a fun FB group😊
ReplyDeleteSingtring
I'm so proud to be one of the founding members of this group (and many offshoots!) I genuinely cannot imagine my life without all you fabulous kind and supportive folk. I have slowed down production this year and have only made about 10 pairs!
ReplyDeleteSeven pairs made, wish I had more time to make more. I travel sometimes with work, so always take my sock knitting.
ReplyDeleteI am on my first sock!!
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations on your 2nd anniversary! I've been a knitter for many years but only knitted my first pair of socks this year by following your sockalong. Then I used up the rest of the ball of yarn and made another slightly shorter pair. So that gives me a grand total of 2 pairs. I want to try a different pattern next! 😀
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday and many thanks for the group. 6 pairs since may. X Amanda Hamilton
ReplyDeleteI've been following you on Instagram, but I just found out about your blog from your Instagram post. I'm going to love spending some time on it!
ReplyDeleteI have all the "ingredients" ready for my first attempt! It's supposed to be rainy this weekend where I am...so I'm going for it!
ReplyDeleteI am on my 2nd pair of socks now, but I take such a long time to complete them! Thankyou for getting me started on sock knitting ;) x
ReplyDeleteHappy 2nd Birthday! I'm on my 27th pair altogether but have 'only' done 7 this year because of other knitting distractions.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn Kendrick
On my first pair but following the pattern and tutorial has made them far easier than I imagined, just need to brave the toes now! Happy 2nd birthday
