Blogtober 2023 : Day 16

It’s been another lovely autumn day here in Winwick – we’ve got to make the most of these!

The dog and I were out later today and the light is completely different to the morning.  This is mid-afternoon sunshine through the trees, and there was even some warmth in that sunshine too!

Most of the trees that I see around are still green but on this park where we walk, the leaves are much further into their autumn colours.

So many leaves on the ground already, but so many still on the trees and yet to fall …

I like this view where you can see the spire of Winwick Church through the trees.  They’re slowly turning shades of brown and gold, and hopefully the colours will continue to change over the next few weeks before all the leaves are gone.

I hope you’ve had a lovely day! xx

In my defence, I still have covid muzzy brain……I have been sat for ages staring at the photo of the leaves (the last but one photo) trying to spot the spire of the church…not realising I hadn’t scrolled down far enough and there was another photo after that one…with a church spire very plainly in it!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s lovely and sunny here today but hubby says the wind was *very* cold when he took the dog out – at least it’s not so bad that he can’t go back to his golf yet cause his balls would be off wind carried in all directions! 🤣

The trees across the railway tracks still seem to be very green without much turning of colour but when we walked through local woods there are leaves falling so I think some trees are just holding on. Our ginko is usually the last tree to change colour and is still a vibrant green.
