Mike

A black cat sits comfortably with his front paws tucked under his body on artificial grass in front of a brown wooden door.

Weirdy cat, scaredy cat, daft cat.

Our cat.

Night time ninja, our very own Slinky Malinki.

Owner of the most fabulous squirrel tail,

And the loudest pneumatic-drill purr.

Supplier of the best cuddles,

Champion of reversing in through open windows,

Generous with live gifts that needed catching to be put outside again.

Our hearts are broken again too soon.

Oh Christine, I’m so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing, so soon after Toffee’s. It’s amazing how much space animals take up in our hearts and when they’re gone it leaves an aching void. Lots of love and hugs to you and your family xx

So very sorry to hear that you’ve lost Mike so soon after your other cat. It’s painful losing such an integral part of the household. Know only too well what it feels like as we lost our two Maine Coons within weeks of each other and that was one massive hole. It was the lack of “presence” we felt so acutely. It was only the second time we’d been completely without a cat in 30 years. Each time it wasn’t long before we found ourselves adopting another cat; first from the Cats Protection League and last time from the RSPCA. Not saying you should do the same but there are so many cats that would love to be part of a family like yours x

I was so sorry to hear this – it is devastating for you. Cats are always part of your family and particularly when you have children, a precious part of their family memories, and teach them so much about life. We have not been able to have another cat as where we live now is on a busy junction, but how I wish we could. Though all different, they add so much to life.

  7. Fran says:

Bug hugs to you and your family although nothing can prepare you for the hole they leave in the family.

To be “owned” by a cat is an honor…but it makes the heart hurt even more when they are gone. I do believe, however, that they will meet us on the other side to follow us around forever.
    Huge hugs all around.

I’m so sorry, losing a pet is such a particularly awful kind of heartbreak; no matter how long we get to have with them, it really never feels like long enough when they go on ahead. Mike sounds like a wonderful and much loved fellow, sending good thoughts to you and your family ❤️
