Sockalong Knit n Natter at Black Sheep Wools
One of the things that I’m really keen on is the well-being aspect of knitting and crocheting. I love the way that sitting down with your project even for a short while seems to make the world a better place. It reduces your blood pressure, stops the “monkey” mind from chattering too loudly and keeps your hands and mind active. The only thing that could make it better would be to knit or crochet in friendly company …
And on Monday 7 March 2016 you can do just that! The workshop room at my local yarn shop, Black Sheep Wools Craft Barn in Culcheth, Warrington, is booked for another Sockalong Knit n Natter afternoon. We’re going to meet from 1pm-3pm, everyone’s welcome, it’s free, and you can bring along any project, it doesn’t have to be socks! There’s a lovely cafe at Black Sheep where you can treat yourself to a slice of their fabulous cake (or even lunch if you’re early!), and if someone has given you a lift there is plenty of space and even a comfy sofa for them to wait for you with a newspaper.
You can find information on and directions to the Craft Barn on the Black Sheep Wools website. The nearest train stations are Birchwood and Newton-le-Willows but will involve a taxi-ride to Black Sheep; alternatively the number 19 bus from Warrington town centre will stop close to Glaziers Lane so the Warrington stations might be a better option for public transport if going to travel by train.
There is a limit on numbers because of fire regulations, so if you’re thinking of coming I’d appreciate it if you can either comment below or email me so that we can keep track of the numbers for Black Sheep 🙂
Hope to see you there!
It sounds as though it is going to be wonderful fun! Hope you have a great time!! xx
I hope so, Amy – the last two that we've had have been great! xx
Sounds wonderful! Knitting with friends is even better than knitting alone isn't it?
Yes it is – although I tend not to get much knitting done as I'm too busy chatting! 🙂 xx
I'm just about to sit down now for a bit of knitting after working on my tax return papers! I agree with everything you said. How I wish I could pop over and join you for a fun afternoon of knitting. Wishing you a wonderful, knitty weekend! Hugs, Pat
It's a bit far for you to "pop", Pat, which is a shame, but hope you enjoyed your knitting anyway – I'd say you deserved it working on your tax return! xx
I was just wondering if there was still room for the knit 'n' natter at Black Sheep, I was thinking of travelling up from Anglesey for the afternoon.
Thank
Cath
Yes! There's still plenty of room so do come along, it'll be lovely to see you Cath xx
