Saturday morning
Not so small daughter heads out to Tanzania next week for her Mount Kilimanjaro climb. She’s very excited, I am … well, I’m excited for her but also a bit nervous as my girl heads out on another adventure that involves hours on a plane and high altitude.
We’ve made the trips to the travel clinic, she’s got malaria tablets and altitude sickness medication. We’ve printed off visas and insurance documents, we’ve washed clothes and equipment that have been stored since last year’s trip to Nepal, and we’ve been over and over the kit list she’s been given to make sure we’ve got everything she needs. She’s got more than enough pairs of hand knitted socks and it makes me happy to think that something I’ve made will keep her feet warm and cosy whilst she’s walking. We’ve packed everything into the two rucksacks she’s allowed to take, weighed them and she’s not over the limit.
I think she’s ready to go.
Astrid has packed herself. We’ve had to tell her she’s staying here.
Wish not so small daughter a good trip. Sounds very exciting
