Yes, I am thrilled, thank you! Big socks do take a long time and if you lose momentum it can be hard to get going again - but think how pleased he'll be when they're done! xx
Wow...that is exciting! Particularly given 2019 is my year to conquer sock knitting and I am using wys wool to knit with. At the moment I have goldfinch and peacock on my needles...next up winwick mum!
Wooooohooooooo That’s brilliant news..... love WYS so what a fabulous combo!!!! Can’t wsit to see colours - I bought nearly all the birdy ones
How exciting for you (and all us sock knitters!) Congratulations, Christine. Can't wait to see the collection. You must be so proud of yourself - and rightly so. xxx
Woohoo!! That is exciting news! I can hardly wait to see the colours. I'm sure they will be wonderful and I'll want to buy each one! 😊 Best wishes from Dianne
I know this is a little off topic, but can you knit the 1st of every row on the heel flap? Then do the slip stiches. Seems easier for me to pick up the gusset stitches.
Yes of course, if you want to. It'll mean that you don't have the same cushioned heel but if you don't tend to wear your socks through at the heel then there's no problem. The other thing to do is to slip the first stitch purlwise if you've been slipping knitwise as that will keep the stitch facing the same direction as the others (it twists if you slip knitwise) and therefore will be a bit bigger xx
Oh boy! how exciting. yippee!. I can't wait to see the yarns and of course to buy the yarns. Ooo thankyou so much for giving us even more choices. Well done Christine.
Got your WYS/Winwick Mum sock pattern in John Lewis the other day! Love it. I hope it didn't go on sale before it should have! Looking forward to seeing the wool appear. Congratulations!
