Evening shadows

It’s usually easier for my schedule to walk the dog earlier in the day but recently we’ve been heading out in the evening instead.  I’d forgotten just how nice it is to see the sun setting across the fields and through the trees, and as the days have been a little cooler it’s been more pleasant for the dog as well.

We’ve had the rain recently; heavy heavy showers that have filled up the water barrels to overflowing and made the grass green again.  It’s still warm though, and we’re appreciating not having to take extra layers out with us in the evenings.

Slow summer days and long summer evenings.  We’ve been very spoilt this year.

Just beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing them! We still do the opposite and walk very early as it isn't cooling down enough before bedtime to go out with our elderly Border Terrier! A hint of Autumn in the air this morning though – 13C – and a cool damp air about! Glorious – soon back to jumpers and boots and all my favourite clothes!

Those are such beautiful photos you shared with us today. Sorry I haven't commented recently although I have been reading your lovely posts. It's good that you received some much needed rain. I understand that it's been an unusually hot summer for you in the UK. We're having above normal temps here in SoCal and I can hardly wait until the cooler weather arrives. Enjoy your weekend dear friend, Pat (PS – I'll be knitting away on some socks I wish to finish!)
