Easter Sunday

First magnolia flower – and one of the first bumble bees I’ve seen this year …

Simnel cake, decorations by small daughter …

Helleborus niger – Lenten rose …

Cornflower blue Anemone blanda and yellow celandines …

Muscari – grape hyacinths.  I always think they’re quite exotic-looking little plants …

After telling the girls not to eat all their eggs at once, my husband didn’t leave much of his …

Palm crosses …

Flowers on my money plant (Crassula ovata).  I’ve never seen it flower before – I never even thought that it could!  It seems quite fitting that there are brand new flowers on a day that represents new life.

Happy Easter to you xx

Yes, the sun's out, it's lovely and warm, we've walked to the park to play on the swings and even had an ice cream on the way home. Fab! xx

Happy Easter! The skies are marvelous tonight and the plant life in the garden is amazing, too. I do like your little grape hyacinths, they are sweet. x

Hello, it looks like you had a wonderful Easter celebration. I love the simnel cake. I tasted it for the first time years ago when we celebrated Easter in England with our daughter. It's a lovely tradition. Have a wonderful week. And, your garden looks lovely….

Thank you! I love Simnel cake too; that squishy, gooey marzipan bit in the middle does it for me every time. Small daughter just wants to eat the marzipan off the top! xx

Happy Easter to you too! As my Camellia has declined to flower this year, I'm hoping for great things from my Magnolia! 🙂 xx

Bees? That is not just springy – that's summery! I've never heard of a Simnel cake before this year, but have seen them everywhere this year. I love marzipan so I guess I should give this recipe a try ASAP!

Happy (belated) Easter! I saw a gigantic bumble bee this morning. So lovely to have a bit of sunshine and see the garden springing into life, isn't it? 🙂

It's wonderful! I've spent a good deal of time in the garden over the last couple of days and it's been really lovely to be able to spend time in the sunshine xx
